Housing Market News

Little change has been reported in housing prices in November 2011, although Righmove reported a -2.7% drop in asking prices in December.  Nationwide described the market as 'suprisingly resilient' and expects house price growth to move sideways or drift modestly lower over the next 12 months.  Private rents continue to rise across the country in the 3 months to October according to RICS.  The Land Registry reports that house prices in England & Wales fell by -0.9% in October and -3.2% over the year.  The nuber of properties sold in England & Wales was 6% lower during May to August 2011 than during the same period the previous year.
